She graduated in 1995 and her graduation collection was modeled by 3 celebrity supermodels and to a song written by her father.
In 1997 she was named the Creative Director at Chloé.
In 2001 she left Chloé and partnered with Gucci Group opening her own fashion house under her name.
In 2003 she launched her first perfume.
In 2007 she launched her 100% organic skin care line.
In 2008 she launched her first lingerie collection.
In 2010 she launched her first kids collection.
In 2016 she launched her first menswear collection.
In 2018 she ended her partnership with the Gucci Group (by then called Kering), she purchased their stake in the company acquiring full control.
In 2019 she signed a strategic partnership with Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH).
In 2025 she purchased back the shares of her company LVMH owned.
Throughout her career she has collaborated with very important names like Adidas, Disney, PETA and others.
Stella McCartney is known for having luxurious designs but using a completely different approach when it comes to materials and process.
She focuses on using cruelty-free materials like mushroom leathers and avoiding the use of animal products. She operates her business based on the concept of circular economy. Focusing on recycling, repair and waste reduction.
For her, longevity in fashion is also very important, she wants her designs to be timeless and transcending trends so they can be used for very extended periods of time, thus preventing waste.
