ALL FIRMS WE MENTION HERE AUTHENTICATE THE PRODUCTS YOU BUY.
We only list prestigious firms with a well established reputation and who authenticate products. We actually have the option of listing many more firms but we have decided many of the firms not mentioned here have questionable reputations or offer items the other 12 are already offering.
When you have found a bag you are interested in We strongly emphasize this: always ask the vendor all questions you may have before making a purchase decision, make sure to know everything you need to know about the item you are interested in before paying for it. IF THEY DON’T ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS YOU HAVE ABOUT THE ITEM PRIOR TO BUYING, DON’T BUY FROM THEM.

ALEXANDER McQUEEN IS ONE OF THE TOP NAMES IN MID LUXURY FASHION FROM THE UK
ALEXANDER McQUEEN’S HISTORY
Founded at: London, United Kingdom
Year: 1992
Headquarters: London, United Kingdom
Alexander McQueen (Lee Alexander McQueen) was a British fashion designer, he died in 2010 but his firm continued until today and it is part of the Kering group.
In his early life he took a course in tailoring at Newham College and worked for several firms as a tailor. He was interested in learning to design and went first to Milan, Italy and then studied at Central Saint Martins College of Arts in London and for his graduation in 1992 he presented at London’s Fashion Week a controversial collection called “Jack the Ripper Stalks His Victims”. His collection was purchased by a fashion stylist named Isabella Blow and she became McQueens’ mentor. The same year he started his own firm under his name.
In 1996 he started working for Givenchy as head designer succeeding John Galliano. While working for Givenchy he still designed for his own firm.
In 2000 right before his contract with Givenchy was about to expire he sold 51% of his company to Givenchy’s rival, Gucci (now Kering), and he remained the creative director.
He committed suicide in 2010 after his mother’s death but his firm remained one of the top names in mid level luxury fashion worldwide.
Late in his career his designs became known for integrating skulls to the fabrics or the hardware.
Some of Alexander McQueen’s contributions to the fashion world:
- His fashion shows were theatrical and provocative.
- His designs sometimes featured dramatic figures and proportions like cinched waists and exaggerated shoulders for his female designs
- Bumster trousers (low rise trousers)
- Skull scarf (very popular among celebrities at the time of introduction)
- Armadillo shoes
- Designs reinterpreting eras like the Victorian and Gothic with a futuristic take
- Designs that empowered women
- A pioneer in streaming fashion shows over the internet
Alexander McQueen today is part of the Kering group and they offer Ready-to-Wear, Handbags, Shoes, Accessories and Jewelry.
They are one of the top British names in luxury fashion and a very iconic and prestigious brand.
