Description: LACOSTE was founded in 1933 by a famous tennis player named René Lacoste and a knitwear manufacturer named  André Gillier. The clothing originally meant to play tennis included a logo of Crocodile because René Lacoste was nicknamed the Crocodile for his way of dealing with opponents on the tennis court.  Both the Crocodile logo and the apparel itself became iconic over the decades in tennis circles and later in other sports as well.
