Description: The GAP was founded in 1969 in San Francisco California by a commercial real estate broker named Don Fisher, he was lured to the denim Jeans market when he saw the tremendous demand for Levi’s products at the time in California. He opened a store selling exclusively Levi’s products and LP records ( to attract teenagers and young buyers). In just 4 years they had so much success they already had 25 stores across the US. by 1974 they started selling their own brand of jeans and denim. The GAP or most commonly known as “GAP” became a popular store across the USA eventually having thousands of stores and becoming one of the best-known names in casual apparel and jeans.
They offer products aimed at teenagers and young adults in the middle to middle-high income segments. Their apparel is laid back, approachable, trendy and chic. They have a very big line of activewear and sleepwear/loungewear as well.
