Description: SKAGEN was founded in 1989 by a couple originally from Denmark but residing in New York City. They started representing a company from Denmark that sold corporate branded business gifts and watches and later they found a Watchmaker from Denmark who manufactured the watches in Hong Kong to manufacture watches for them. They started designing their own watches and manufacturing them through that Danish firm but with the purpose of selling them as corporate gifts, but at the suggestion of several people in the corporate shows they decided to start their own retail watch company. The company later sold to Fossil in 2012.
Today they design watches and fashion jewelry in Denmark but the firm is based n the U.S. and manufactures around the world.
